6 months! W27

Image
Hello!! The title of this email is true. Somehow Macy Robbins has made it 6 months on a mission. This past week I have been reflecting a lot on what I've experienced. I want everyone who is reading this to know that I have LOVED my mission so far and I will hype it up till the day I die. It has shaped me, taught me, chastised me, given me incredible opportunities, and best of all helped me meet amazing people that will forever be a part of me. So, it's a good thing I'm not leaving for a year because I got a whole lotta work to do.  Transfer news: I'm still in Crestwood with Hermana Massey as DFTC. This is her last transfer. I'm so grateful I get 3 with her and I cannot say enough good things about her.  Our refrigerator broke this week, so we put all of our food on our back patio of a few days! It was all frozen because it is like 12 degrees outside!  Fun little prompting moment, while planning the day on Thursday we had a prompting to go visit this member who we di...

Eternal Marriage W26

Image
Hello y'all!! This week FLEW probably because we had exchanges and zone conference. First off, my comp and I need a reality TV show. Somebody has got to keep a camera on us at all times. I feel bad that nobody gets to hear us 24/7. Also, tomorrow is my 6-months! And my trainer got engaged this week!  Ken & Linda! I need to talk about them more because they have been my FAV people I've worked with and have changed my life. They give us marriage advice all the time and said that my future husband will have to go through them, and he can't be a lame bum. They are practically my parents on the mission. We had a really spiritual lesson with Linda this week, it was one of those lessons you could sit in for hours. Ken was baptized in June, but Linda is working on an addiction. We invited a senior couple to come to our lesson. And they bore the most powerful testimonies about eternal marriage. Right after, Ken called from work and said, "Happy hump day" and checked on...

Praying For Cats W25

Here's my weekly email and I hope you enjoy it because I talk about the reality of missions! Sometimes missionaries are scared to talk about the hard parts of missions because they don't want to sound weak. Shared experiences are so powerful, and you never know what talking about your struggles can do to help someone else!  This week they've really got us on lock down, no member meals, no activities and we were quarantined because of some snowstorms. We went and visited a few people and every single one of them were exposed to covid! Even with all of this I have had some great experiences I would like to share.  My sister got married btw!!  Okay, so the Hermanas that are close to us found this family that spoke English that they wanted us to teach. So, on Saturday we all went to their apartment to meet them. They let us come in and they had the most adorable 1 year old baby named Trigger. We sat and talked about religion, their pasts, and hopes for the future. They said t...

Something To Look Forward To W24

Image
Hello people!!! The work is moving forward out here in Crestwood Kentucky even with a huge snowstorm and more covid restrictions. We are plugging along and laughing every day. I also learned how to pray in Spanish! •We got the Covid Booster and that just about killed us. The next day we were convinced that Tina may have injected us with something a little more than the Pfizer Booster. •It was my half birthday this week and not one of you thought to message me. Interesting.... •Okay, now for the missionary work things. We had an incredible lesson with Elwanda and talked about the Doctrine of Christ. We really emphasize the holy ghost and it made me reflect on how much the holy ghost is a gift. She started talking about her baptism and just cried. She can't wait to join the Lord's church and she has the strongest desire I've ever seen. Now we just got to work through some W.O.W. things so prayers up for Elwanda. •There's a lady named Diane that I taught in Louisville she ...

Boonies Of Kentucky W23

This week was an interesting one. Both me and my companion kind of felt like we were floating through the week. We think the winter blues might be getting to us. But lots of great things happened this week:)  We had exchanges this week and holy cow it was a blast. I got to go to this area in the boonies. I really felt like I was in Kentucky. Most the houses were trailers and when we went inside, I felt like I was on the hoarders buried alive TV show.  We had a lesson with a recent convert named Barb on exchanges. This lesson was definitely for me, and she taught me so much. Barb has been through just about every bad thing you can think of. It was my first time meeting her, but she told me everything in great detail. We cried for a good chunk of it. Yet she told me something pretty profound she said, "I don't have to be sad about all the bad things that have happened to me in the past I can focus on my life changing right now and that brings me joy" her life has completely...
