In My Element W18

Image
This week was just too good to be true!! I learned how to play the ukulele, a member gave us boujee sushi, I had Cafe Rio ranch for the first time in a while, went to a church in a strip mall, received a hand painted BoM from Ella, and trained at some district councils. Let me tell you how my Thanksgiving went because I know y'all are dying to hear! We had the best dinner at a member's home. Their home was so cozy, and the food was amazing. There were four great big dogs at your feet at all times. We met some incredible people and there was a couple from SUU there! How cool is it that I just get to barge into a random family's home for Thanksgiving? I just love missions. After our dinner we headed over to our mission presidents for dessert and hung out in the basement. I ended the night FaceTimeing my family and we all played secret Hitler. I just had the most amazing Thanksgiving!!  We had some great lessons this week, but I think my favorite was with this lady named Elwan...

Lifes Are Changing Out In Kentucky W17

Image
Hello y'all!!! This week has been jam packed with spiritual experiences, meetings, driving beautiful country backroads in Kentucky, laughing, filming, country accents, interfaith councils, mission trainings and so much more. I'm quickly learning the digital finding ways and God is working with me fast.  My first spiritual experience I wanted to share happened at a lesson this week with Ken and Linda. It was after MLC where I was already on a spiritual high. Our mission president and his wife came to this lesson. We decided to talk about covenants and for the first part we all kind of bounced off each other. Then we just let my president take over because holy cow!!! I wish y'all could've been there because I can't even describe to you how strong the spirit was. My president made Mosiah 5 apply to her in every single way.  Linda has been taught for a year but doesn't feel worthy to be baptized she has been a heavy smoker since she was young. My president got her ...

Last Minute Transfer:'/ W16

Image
Well, this week went just about the opposite that I expected it to. About 30 min before we were headed to transfers, I got a text from my Mission President asking if he could call me. I immediately started to panic and said yes. He called and told me that the spirit had been working on him all night and told him that I needed to join the DFTC (digital finding & teaching coordinators) He said all transfer he has been feeling that way and he asked me if I would have faith and follow what the Lord wants me to do. I said yes of course but my heart is a little broken. I loved my area sooooo much and I had so many plans. We quickly got in the car and drove to say bye to some of the people I was teaching but I didn't get to say bye to any members or a good chunk of our people. Once we got to transfers, I met my could have been trainee and she's the cutest thing. One day we will be comps I know it!!  Being a DFTC sister means STLs and honorary saps;) so I am just a little stressed ...

Hermana Robbins W15

Image
Don't act surprised by the name of this group email, we all knew it would happen someday. I was a Hermana for a day and during soccer night I of course scored a goal on all those Hispanics. I have never been hyped up more in my life. Definitely a peak. I'm finally out of training, but I just got asked to train! So, boo yah prayers my way please because I have been in the field for .2 seconds. I'm just grateful I get to stay in my area because it is poppin. Well not at the beginning of the week, but towards the end I was living my best life.  On p-day I got to ride a roller coaster, went go-karting, laser tagging, and bowling! Most normal I have felt in a while!! Such a fun p-day. The ABSOLUTE highlight of my week though was when my two favorite people I've met on my mission met and gave each other a hug!! We invited Kevin over to my favorite member families house for dinner and him and Sydney met, and it was the most precious thing ever. The gospel has truly changed Kev...

Sister La Chohn's Disease W14

Image
Well, this week we caught 3 mice, went to Tyler's baptism, carved pumpkins then later a squirrel ate mine, got nicknamed Sister Beans, and I met my first atheist in Kentucky. Highlights of my week: There are a lot of awkward elders in my mission, so I asked my district leader if I could give a training about how to be normal and natural. He said yes. Some other elders have asked me to teach them how not to be awkward. I'm glad I'm making an impact in that way. We have a member named Sister Lecron but I can't pronounce it, so I say Sister La Chohn's disease. Also, my fav guy Kevin who's on date has been preaching it up and giving us referrals, he's just the best. Lastly, my president was wearing his wife's tag and didn't notice until we pointed it out, he's the best.  This week we had an amazing lesson with Michael!! I don't know if I've ever said anything about him in my emails. He's in a wheelchair and he's a very quiet guy. We f...
