Christmas From Kentucky W22

Image
Well Merry Christmas!! This week has flown, and it has actually been a blast. We had MLC, had some interesting dinner appointments, laughed a ton and had deep talks!  So, we did go tracting for a little bit this week which I had never done before. It was kind of interesting and I felt like an old missionary. We were just knocking on a few doors and asking if they wanted to hear a Christmas message and most of them said yes! This lady name Salikia let us in and talked to us for an hour and a half. As soon as I said Jesus Christ she lit up and said come in come in! She told us she never lets people in but felt a light about us! I introduced the Book of Mormon, and she wants to know more. My favorite moment this week was Christmas night. We were out in the woods of Kentucky it was 70 degrees, and we were caroling to random people with our district. The stars were bright, and everyone was so kind! I'm honestly so blessed to be serving here.  I'm just so grateful for Jesus Christ h...

Thumbs Up For Kevin's Baptism W21

Image
Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having such a good Christmas season! Each of you mean so much to me and I am so grateful for the support and love I always feel from y'all.  Kevin got baptized this week!!! My heart is soooo full. I got to sit by my President and his wife during the baptism and see all my friends there and it was just amazing. Right when he was walking into the font, I felt the spirit so strong and so much joy. I've only felt the spirit that strong a couple of other times. Kevin came right up to me after his baptism and said, "I feel changed and so warm inside." Because I've been with him since day one his baptism meant so much to me. He has had to sacrifice a lot to get to his baptism.  I also got to see Michael at Kevin's baptism who is my other good friend! He's excited to get baptized in the next few weeks! He really opened up to me and told me lots of stories like when he got shot 3 times!! He is usually quiet, so it was fun to see h...

Tornados! W20

•Well, this may have been the best week! We got transfer news and I'm staying in Crestwood as a DFTC, STL and will now be in my first duo out in the field! We had Christmas zone conference this week, got fed lunch & dinner most days, set Ewanda on baptismal date, and I received the most genuine compliment ever and I also received a nice pair of earrings! •The highlight of my week was exchanges; we were volunteering at an event called festival of nativities. Basically, everyone of all faiths comes to the church and puts out their nativities. There were 500 nativities. So many of our friends came and loved it! When it was over, we helped this lady who's not a member named Miss Davis clean up some of her nativities. Out of nowhere she just invited us to a fancy steak house. We agreed and next thing you know we were eating $25 steaks with three 70 year olds. We all held hands and said grace and we just laughed our heads off while playing two truths and one lie ahahh. I will nev...

Smoky Scriptures W19

Image
Well hello! I think I've officially become a Kentucky missionary because my scriptures and my clothes smell like smoke!! Also, a kid in my ward was wondering if Kobe Bryant's temple work got done. So, if anybody knows, let me know!!  •The beginning of this week was a shocker. After my interview with President on Tuesday he got a serious call. He then pulled me and my companions aside and told us we were going on emergency exchanges for the day. We all got in the car and went to pick up two sisters. We had to wait in the car for a while, but it turns out one of the sisters in our zone was going home:/ it was heart breaking and a very emotionally draining two days. Lots of tear were shed.  •Fast and testimony meeting!! 3 of our friends we are meeting with bore their testimonies:) they were short, real, and powerful. Me and my two companions bore our testimonies as well. It was a missionary fast and testimony meeting! We had quite a lot of people after church tell us we were popp...
