Smoky Scriptures W19
Well hello! I think I've officially become a Kentucky missionary because my scriptures and my clothes smell like smoke!! Also, a kid in my ward was wondering if Kobe Bryant's temple work got done. So, if anybody knows, let me know!!
•The beginning of this week was a shocker. After my interview with President on Tuesday he got a serious call. He then pulled me and my companions aside and told us we were going on emergency exchanges for the day. We all got in the car and went to pick up two sisters. We had to wait in the car for a while, but it turns out one of the sisters in our zone was going home:/ it was heart breaking and a very emotionally draining two days. Lots of tear were shed.
•Fast and testimony meeting!! 3 of our friends we are meeting with bore their testimonies:) they were short, real, and powerful. Me and my two companions bore our testimonies as well. It was a missionary fast and testimony meeting! We had quite a lot of people after church tell us we were poppin off so that felt nice.
•During church I leaned over to my bestie tear drop face tat Nathaniel and offered him a mint. He looked at me crazy and said, "Sister Robbins why are you tempting me to break my fast?" Hahaha I explained to him that mints were fine and so he agreed to take one. Seeing him so excited to fast and pay tithing is so powerful to me!
•Let me tell you about this lesson!! We went to my favorite sketch apartment building to have a lesson with Elwanda. where we were going to watch the Christ Child. When we got there, we saw all her grandkids in the parking lot, so we invited them in. We watched it with 4 of her grandkids and it was so precious, these teenagers' eyes were glued to the screen. One of the girls leaned over to her Gma and said, "this is exactly what we needed today." That made my heart so happy. One of the other kids has been going through so much and he opened up to us, so we said a special prayer for him. Afterwards we gave them all Book of Mormons and it was just the happiest night ever!!
•I love being a DFTC, it's so fun to drive to Louisville and train all the missionaries. I know most of them now at a personal level!! Also, our ward is the best thing ever because it's all just Utah dental students, so we are just besties, and we get to play with their kids! I'm also convinced I'm a therapist because half of the day I just listen to people and talk through their problems!
•I received a physical note signed by Elder Ty Robbins this week! It was a note my dad wrote to my great grandparents while on his mission. It was the coolest note I've ever received, and I could definitely relate to it!! A lot of stuff that he wrote I actually wrote in my journal a few weeks ago! My dad was the big AP on his mission, and I didn't even know smh.
