6 months! W27
Hello!! The title of this email is true. Somehow Macy Robbins has made it 6 months on a mission. This past week I have been reflecting a lot on what I've experienced. I want everyone who is reading this to know that I have LOVED my mission so far and I will hype it up till the day I die. It has shaped me, taught me, chastised me, given me incredible opportunities, and best of all helped me meet amazing people that will forever be a part of me. So, it's a good thing I'm not leaving for a year because I got a whole lotta work to do.
Transfer news: I'm still in Crestwood with Hermana Massey as DFTC. This is her last transfer. I'm so grateful I get 3 with her and I cannot say enough good things about her.
Our refrigerator broke this week, so we put all of our food on our back patio of a few days! It was all frozen because it is like 12 degrees outside!
Fun little prompting moment, while planning the day on Thursday we had a prompting to go visit this member who we didn't know very well. She invited us in and her husband who is not a member totally ignored us and kept his eyes glued to the screen. In my head, I said, "I'm gonna crack him." Sure, enough I did. I found out he loved to talk about cars, so we did just that for 30 min! We asked if we could share a message and he went right back to the TV but, I'm grateful he didn't leave. He listened to his wife bear her testimony of the Book of Mormon and I hope his heart was softened a little bit! You could tell she was nervous bearing her testimony but I'm so grateful she did.
Okay we went over to this lady named Selikas house! Holy smokes. She is 90 years old, and we introduced the Book Of Mormon to her. She was pretty receptive and liked it. At the end we asked if we could take a picture with her. She goes, "oh no, not with my curlers in, let me get a hat to cover em up" so she did just that. So, enjoy those pictures below of me laughing my head of and shaking.
Overall, I think in these last 6 months the thing that I've learned most is that Kentucky people make me laugh harder than anything else. Half the time I'm in absolute shock asking myself, "Is this real life?" I absolutely love it and I'm so grateful God sent me here so I can be entertained 24/7. Let me know if there's anything I can do for y'all! Love you!
