Birthdays + Beat Up BoMs W80
Another great week out in Kentucky! I got to teach and testify of Jesus Christ over and over which is why it was another great week.
I had my last zone conference. My goal was to not cry, and I failed. It's because all my friends were there! My pen pals Kaliene Talbot (from PG) and Hermana Hibbard. After I gave my departing testimony and we sang my favorite Hymn #202, I just realized how much I'll miss gathering like that, the spirit is so strong and you learn so much! Our district got to do a special musical number of Hymn #7! I have a copy of my testimony if you want it. After I gave it, President had me stay up and showed everyone my beaten-up Book of Mormon I've been using for the past year. There's 100s of sticky notes and marked verses and it looks like it's about to fall apart. He pointed out that studying is how I've come to know Christ. And that is so true! The Book of Mormon is the foundation of my testimony of Christ.
It was Sister Nielsen's birthday on Tuesday! So, we got fed well. Our friend Paulette had us over for a party and Ellen took us out to a NICE restaurant. She asked what I ordered and I said, "a burger" she said, "are you kidding me? At a place like this?" Haha. It was a good burger though.
Boy oh boy do I have a story for y'all when I get home. Not a now story! Just ask me about Tasha later! Our friend Tasha came to church for the first time and loved it!! She got a ride from a 95 year-old member. He had a birthday party on Saturday, and we got to go! We helped set up and he said, "It could be my funeral or birthday party! Who knows!" He also said he hasn't drunk water in 6 months, he's only drank diet coke hahaha! He gets up at every testimony meeting and says, "Well this'll probably be my last" and he talked about probably never getting a calling again. Then he got called into primary the next week!
This week I've really come to appreciate the organization in the church. I got to attend my first ever coordinating council with all the Stake Presidents in the area and our area 70. This church does everything for the one. To bring them closer to Christ! Everything from our Missionary coordination meeting to our stake meetings. It's all for one purpose! I'm so grateful for my membership and I'm so grateful for the examples I've had of great leaders. I hope to be like them some day!
Our friends are doing SO well, and our members have been inviting them over and helping so much! I hope to be like the members that I've seen out here. They are so stellar and such an example!
