The Lord's Language W70
Hello friends! I got my new comp on Tuesday. Her name is also Sister Wilson! She is such a hard worker and has such a fire in her. I'm so grateful she's my companion. At transfers I got to see all my friends! Including Kaliene Talbot from high school and Sister Ebert my MTC comp! There are the best sisters in the Kentucky Louisville Mission!
We went to an African Wedding this week, went to a fancy sushi hibachi restaurant, did lots of planning, and went to a Stake Christmas music program!
Thanksgivings on the mission are the best! Thanksgiving morning everyone in the mission went on a turkey trot! We ran 362 miles as a mission!! We had 4 appointments and got fed so much. The Walthers, Blodgetts, Hills, and Edith Martin took us in! I'm in the perfect ward for the holiday season. It's just so fun getting to spend Thanksgiving with random families. Missions are just so weird, but incredible.
Gloria! So, we met Gloria while doing studies at Sonic. Never thought my desire to get a coke zero would result in a new friend to teach the gospel to! We called Gloria to set something up and she told us her ex-husband was a member! We had a great restoration lesson with her, and she said she felt that us meeting at Sonic came from God that day. The lesson was chaotic, but the spirit is always there when you testify of the restored gospel.
I've been really thinking about the Holy Ghost this week and how grateful I am for him. I've studied a lot this week about the difference between doubt and questions. In the BYU talk, "Stand Forever", Lawrence Corbridge talks about primary vs secondary questions. The primary questions are the ones that really matter. Like, "Is there a God who is our father? Rather than a secondary question, "Why was polygamy a thing?" Questions have to be looked at with an eternal perspective rather than looking to doubt or find flaws. I've been trying to understand the Lord's language for revelation for me and I encourage y'all to do the same. Sheri Dew said, "First, ask the Lord to teach you what it feels and sounds like for you when He is speaking to you via the Holy Ghost, and then watch how He tutors you. And second, if you've never asked the Lord how He feels about you, that is a great question to ask. In time, He will tell you, and as He does, you'll learn more about speaking His language." It's so vital to ask questions and diligently seek answers. We need to understand the Spirit and be willing to pay any price to have it with us constantly. I could do nothing in this work if it wasn't for the Holy Ghost. So that is why I'm so grateful for Him.
