Joseph Smith In Kentucky! W66

Hello friends!! Happy Halloween!
My heart is so full of gratitude for this work, the people, Kentucky, and the Lord!

Remember Ethan, I was gonna update y'all on?! Well, we had a lesson with him on Thursday and it was perfect. We had it in a member's home named the Kotter's and they live on this island thing so look at the pics below. We taught the restoration, and his inactive dad and his dad's girlfriend were there. It was so powerful to teach about Joseph Smith to him because he's 13 and searching for the truth just like Joseph was! He accepted a baptismal date for November the 20th and is so excited! He said he felt so good inside when we are teaching and loves learning. He said he knows he belongs at church. What kind of 13-year-old says that?

We also got to go to McDonald's with 2 teenage girls from the Congo! They have been struggling with self-worth and we got to testify of their divine nature. Afterwards they said, "wow we really needed that, I feel so much better." So much joy comes from helping others come to know their worth!! So go tell someone how awesome they are<3

We had a ward Halloween party! All of our friends came and loved it. They had an activity where they put tape on all the kids and had them roll around on the floor to get candy. I got some pretty funny videos and our friend Bonita was screaming at all the kids. We dressed up as the wizard of Oz and I got to be Dorothy (thanks for the idea Sister Talbot). We also dressed up as each other for church and I think my outfit of Sister Wilson was spot on.

We also had 2 of my favorite member meals this week. One was in Somerset on exchanges a member took us to a place exactly like Pizza Pie Cafe. If you know me, you know I love that place. Then we had one with a new young couple in the ward who fed us Cafe Rio and bought us flowers! I have served around young couples so much on my mission and I love it because they are so willing to help out in the work and are just friends!

I've been really trying to make the sacrament a spiritual experience for myself. My comp shared this quote with me from a BYU talk it says, "We should conscientiously prepare for and worthily partake of the sacrament. This preparation should happen in the days leading up to the sacrament meeting. Decide what aspect of the Savior’s mission you are going to think about during the sacrament and perhaps consider one thing you can do to increase your faith, to change in a positive way—which is another way to say repent—and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. When the sacrament hymn begins, focus on the Savior and His Atonement. This directs us toward Him and away from ourselves. We should pray to be renewed as we partake of the sacrament and remember Him."
I did this and I had the coolest experience! Try it!!!
