Back To My Roots W63
SUCH A COOL WEEK!!!!
First off, we had new missionary training on Tuesday in Crestwood and MLC in Louisville. My old areas! So, President gave us permission to sleepover with the Highland sisters and visit all my old friends.
I got to visit Linda! One of my fav people I've taught. She's doing so good, and it felt like old times being in her home. I got to see Kenny and if you remember Kenny you know that was a long awaited reunion. The Verdonis! One of my fav member families!! We got to take pics with them by the temple and Liv has grown so much. I also got to visit Kevin! The first baptism I saw on my mission. He has grown so much and was telling me all about conference, passing the sacrament, the priesthood, the prophet, and his Book of Mormon reading. He's a completely different person!! It was so fun to see everyone! Can't wait to introduce them to my family. Then we gotta play volleyball with the U of L YSA! Which was my old stomping grounds.
Larry is now ordained a priest and his wife Sandy is now on date to be baptized! Sango my Swahili friend is now on date for baptism too November 27th! We had 12 nonmember friends at church on Sunday. This lady named Sifae, brought her whole family and Stephanie brought hers. There was also a lady named Madison who is dating a member. She sat by us in Relief Society and opened up to the whole Relief Society about her not going to church in years. She said she is interested to meet with us and now we have something set up. We also got to ask some members to give Stephanie a blessing and that was a really tender moment! GOD IS SO GOOD.
My favorite miracle this week was at my new fav restaurant Chuys. We had to combine our dinner and lunch because we were so busy. So, we went to Chuys at 4:30pm and a lady walked up to us. Her name was Kayla and she said, "This is so weird, and I know it's a sign! I've been meeting with missionaries in Africa and told them I want to come back to church and bring my kids into the church. Now you are here and it's my birthday. Can we set up a time to meet?" This is every missionary's DREAM! especially because 5 minutes early I had the thought in my head, "I feel like I have never had the opportunity as a missionary where somebody just walks up to me and is interested" then 5 minutes later. Boom! God is so aware. We have her member records in our area book and are going to meet with her. She lives in a different ward now but I'm so grateful we were able to meet her!
Update: I'm staying in Lexington with my 2 Comps! This will be me and Sister Morses 3rd transfer together, and we are still with the best trainee Sister Wilson. I'm stoked because we have lots of good things happening and found lots of potentials this week.
Brandon! Somehow Brandon, who the missionaries before us couldn't get in contact with, we were able to visit. He was interested and said we came at the perfect time, and he had been out of town for the past 3 months! Turns out I did put him in our schedule a while ago but still! Really cool because we were so confused. We started teaching Karen and her family, Mikeara and her family, and the Wright family with 2 kids that need to get baptized! We also had 4 new friends join us for our group study at the Rose apartments! We are busy busy!!!
