Teaching The Children Of Kentucky! W56
Pretty solid week out in the city of Lexington, Kentucky. We found 3 families this week that was definitely the highlight! We got to catch fireflies and see the prettiest sunsets. My friend Kevin got to do Baptisms in the temple so enjoy the sweet picture below. He has come so far since I first met him! We got to do two trainings at zone conference and went to the famous Texas Buc-ee's before exchanges. We also got to go to an art festival here downtown and talk to everyone.
Let me tell you about our new friends !
Shanic and her daughter Claire. We knocked on their door last week had a lesson this week and they came to church last Sunday. They loved it too! Claire made so many friends in Nursery. Shanic said that everything really spoke to her. She gave me a big hug after I spoke in sacrament and told me I made her cry! She's kinda my Kentucky mom here. It's so fun to teach people that you are just besties with.
Cici + Alazaye and their kids! The elders met the sweetest sisters and their 5 kids. We got to go over and teach them. It was just such a solid first contact! Can't wait to continue working with them. Their kids are adorable and just wanted to play with us the whole time. I love kids!
Stephanie + her family! We started teaching a part member family. The dad is an inactive member and the mom is really interested and said she'll come to church next week. Her kids are adorable too! So many kids this week.
Also update on my friend that I found on Facebook a few months ago. She is progressing so much and came to church and is loving the restoration and Book of Mormon. She lives in Lexington, just not in our area. She goes to college here and we are hopefully going to set up a time to meet in person. I'm so glad I've been a part of her story and now have that connection!
Here's my transfer scripture. This transfer has been a lot of submitting my will to the Lord, but I'm always reminded that the Lord's way is higher than mine.
8 ¶ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
