God Cares About Karen Work W45

We had a Karen Sacrament meeting where everything was in Karen this week! We had a pretty good turn out and 40 people showed up (about 30 nonmembers!) I even got to bear my testimony in Karen!!

Listen to this incredible miracle. The day before church we were at a Karen birthday party. We met this guy there who said he was visiting from Georgia and had met with missionaries before. We invited him to church, and he came the next day. But get this... he went up first to bear his testimony we were all a little scared. Then he taught the whole restoration to everyone and the priesthood. He bore such a solid testimony and testified that this is Christ's church on the earth. For the first solid minute I was scared because I thought he was going against the church since I don't know Karen but turns out it was a miracle! He was baptized in 2015 and was taught in English in Georgia. He only comes to Owensboro once a year and just so happened to come this weekend and just so happened to be at this party. Right place right time, God is in the details. The reason it was so incredible that he was there is because we don't have like any Karen priesthood holders. And us as missionaries you only know so much Karen. So, for a native Karen man to go up and bear testimony was so needed. There were a couple moms there who won't let their kids be baptized, so we are hoping their hearts were softened. God really does care about the Karen work in Owensboro Kentucky.

We had exchanges this week. I went with Hermana Kirby in Evansville Indiana. It was probably my favorite exchange yet, we worked so hard and talked to so many people. We spent our time in the sketchiest part of town and met the most interesting people. Our new friend Don gave us a camera in exchange for the Book of Mormon. I also felt prompted to knock on a door and she was totally interested so that was a plus!

We had some good southern bbq this week! We got country music in the back, our waitress with her southern accent calling me miss Macy and a whole district of missionaries. Can't ask for much better. We also had district pday by a pond! We played volleyball and had a BBQ. I love summer! Our people are still progressing and we had some great lessons this week. I'm loving the work and I just have such a strong desire to talk to everyone and get stuff done right now!

Please enjoy the pictures!
