Pure Entertainment W36

Hello Y'all!! I don't even know where to begin. I had two very hard days this week that shook my faith a lot but guess what? We are still here so it must be the Lord's work or something. I won't tell you all the sad stuff because the good always outweighs the bad! Let me tell you about some highlights from my week. First, of course was general conference. My mission president invited us over for Lunch and the Sunday morning session as well as our friends. Everything was great and as soon as it was over my President got really serious and talked about the 5 things President Nelson has just asked us to do. I hope y'all remember but the first is to come onto the covenant path. Since our friend hasn't been baptized yet, my President told her that he had received the strongest impression that he couldn't put off that he needed to invite her to set a date to be baptized!! The spirit was so strong I didn't move because I didn't want to ruin anything. It felt like we were in the clouds. She agreed of course how could you not from that powerful of an invitation?

Okay I don't usually do this, but I have to explain to you this member meal because it probably ranked top 2 out of all my member meals which is saying a lot. I walk in. I got the dad talking my ear off on the right and the young couple on the couch with major PDA across from me and then the mom with her 80s haircut cooking in the kitchen while their aunt comes out of nowhere in her dress and the fuzziest boots I have ever seen. While we were praying, I said to myself, "Holy cow this is going to be some pure entertainment" and that it was. Absolute chaos, but I was loving it. Some of the most extreme stories were told and It was an absolute treat. I love member meals. So, I am in the perfect place in the mission because we get fed EVERY DAY. That is why I came on a mission to come to these member meals and just see families interact. It is probably one of my favorite parts of my mission. When would I ever walk into a house every day and have them feed me for free and also receive entertainment? I just think missions are the funniest things.

Update: We started soccer nights now and holy cow! It was intense. We had kids who played on the high school team there and even somebody that played for USU eastern, but I haven't lost my touch. I needed my Real Salt Lake jersey. Everyone was calling me Hermana Robbins because I was doing well and shouting "MVP". It boosted my ego a little bit and I think I needa study humility a little more. I went out to get a breath of air and I saw 3 nonmember boys outside, so I forced them to come in and play so they did in their crocs. Definitely a peak of my mission.

Overall, yes, I had highlights but sometimes I treasure those awful days because that is what keeps me on my knees feeling so close to my Savior. Even though things can be hard I have never been more sure that Heavenly Father is aware of me than I am right now. He knows me, He knows the people we are teaching, He knows you and He is authoring your story so you can reach your full potential and become like him. Becoming like Him is not an event, it's a process. Macy.robbins@missionary.org
