W.O.W. W35

Hello everyone!!

First off can I just say I love serving in Kentucky even if it is the #1 state with the most smokers:/
We had some pretty cool experiences this week. I really saw the Lord's timing in a lot of experiences. We have this friend who is a very heavy smoker but wants to be baptized and we have been trying to teach her the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity, but it has not been working out and we knew she would not be willing to give up smoking . It's been about a month or so now, so we were going to stop teaching her, but we decided to check up on her and she was in the hospital! Anyways long story short we asked her if she would like to receive a blessing, she said yes so, we brought some men in our ward to come by. They gave her a powerful blessing and prayed that she would be able to keep harmful substances out of her body, so she won't be sick anymore. A thought popped into my head to take advantage of everyone here and just teach her the W.O.W. So, I may have alarmed the men in our ward, but I just came in hot and went ahead and started teaching the law of chastity and Word of wisdom right after the blessing. Her boyfriend was sitting on the couch and her cigarettes right next to him haha. She said now she realized after being sick that she needs to quit and agreed to live 'em!!! God really was in the details of this experience.

Nathaniel got endowed! So fun story I don't know if you remember Nathaniel, he has face tats and he's probably been my favorite person I've taught he's my older brother I never had. Anyways he moved out to Idaho with his brothers, and I was sad, but he got endowed this week at the Bountiful temple and both my old Comps got to go because they are already home and live in Utah. I got permission to call, and it was the best reunion! It was so good to see everyone, and Nathaniel was so excited! It's so cool to have a front row seat to people's lives changing. Kevin also got the priesthood last week!

I am still plugging along and learning to love the challenging parts of missionary work. I am loving the new ward we are in, and I can't believe some of these nice houses I'm going into with pools and tennis courts. I thought I would be in dirt houses when I signed up to serve a mission. Although my mission so far is nothing like what I thought it would be like. God really gives you what you need and not always what you want. I am so grateful he is the one in charge of my growth and my story.
