Well I'm In Kentucky W3
I made it to Kentucky!!! Wowza who knew Kentucky was so beautiful. It's so green and the people are wack but a good wack. Our flight got canceled so we didn't get to Kentucky until 12:30 at night!!! I had my mission president interview at 2:30am, I was the very last. We went to bed at 3am and woke up at 6:30am to start our first day! I got 6 hours of sleep in 60 hours! I'm in a trio and I adore my companions! We are three bubbly blondes haha. Only difference is they sing 24/7 and I'm borderline tone deaf:)
The people we are teaching are named Jinan, Timesha, Patience, Nneka, Cherish and lots more if that gives you an idea of who we are teaching. I have never heard y'all, hallelujah, god bless or amen more in my whole life. This week consisted of, fried chicken, rats, lots of teaching, face masks, a baptism, setting off the house alarm (this was me), green trees, service, meeting a man named Joe from Detroit, a homeless man at the food pantry asked if he could take me home, Ohio river, and so much more!! BTW we live in this Janky sketch house hahaha. It's been blessed before and it's something you would see off criminal minds. There's a random hole in the ceiling where the owner of the house was looking for something while talking to his ancestors in the basement, mice also live with us and apparently 2 people died here and there are some creepy pictures everywhere, but it looks cute on the outside!! I love it it's like I'm living on the edge.
Spiritual thought- Everyone listen to the talk "His grace is sufficient"- Brad Wilcox. Here's some things I love about it. "We aren't earning heaven we are preparing for it" The atonement isn't just about being saved, it's about change. The atonement is like piano lessons for kids. The mom pays for the piano lessons, and she just asks the kid to practice. The child practicing doesn't pay back the piano teacher, it just shows appreciation to the Mom. We need to do our little part to show appreciation for the atonement. We constantly need to change using the atonement so we can prepare for heaven! I'm excited to see y'all there.
Not going to lie this week has been really hard but very rewarding. It's hard to adjust to mission life but I'm ready for the challenge and I already told God He can't leave my side the whole time. I don't think He will. I really got put with the best trainers and area. We are so close to the city. I love Louisville!!
